Meet the Doctor

WOW! What a year it’s been.

I officially went to the Eureka City Hall to get the Business License for Bloom Chiropractic on March 10, the Tuesday before shelter in place. The office stayed closed for a couple of months, as I purged my house and did some gardening. Patients started filtering in by the end of June, fast forward a year and the office is blooming!

I was drawn to chiropractic because I knew that we all have the power within us to heal, that health is not simply the absence of disease and true health comes from within. I loved that I was not trying to “fix a problem” but simply removing the interference to let the body heal on its own.

It was awesome being a chiropractor, but I loved being a mom more. I stayed home with my kids and boy, it was a lot of work.  But, it was actually my kids that inspired me to go back to work.  One of my children started having trouble in school and eventually he was diagnosed with ASD and ADHD. This led me on a path of learning all about neuro developmental issues.  As I studied,  I was reminded of the power of chiropractic.  I began working on my Certification by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP). Initially my focus was working with school aged children, like my own.   But through the certification program I realized that some of the hurdles these kids are facing were set in-utero.  Surely, I had to offer care to moms.  Plus, who can forget the struggles of being pregnant and the difficulties of birth and newborn babies!

Now my practice is filled with a lot of moms (some pregnant, some not), a few babies, a few kids and a bunch of regular folks -who I love helping just as much.

Just as my life blossomed into something new when I had my children, my life is now blooming into my own path.
